Week of 6/3 - 6/7

Students finished the unit on statistics and probability. This was a shortened week due to SBAC testing schedules.

Week of 5/28 - 5/31

Students continued the unit on statistics and probability.  Students learned about theoretical vs. experimental probability.  This was a shortened week due to Memorial Day, Spring Assembly, Yearbook and SBAC testing schedules.

Week of 5/20 - 5/24

This week students started a mini-unit on statistics and probability.  Students learned about experiments, randomization, outcomes, sample space and calculating probability as both ratios and percents.  Students will continue this unit into next week which is shortened due to Memorial Day and SBAC testing schedules.  Students took an IEP data assessment.

Week of 5/13 - 5/17

This week students continued the unit on solving multi-step inequalities.  Students applied prior knowledge of number properties as well as simplifying algebraic expressions to practice solving and graphing inequalities.  Students took a quiz to demonstrate their knowledge.

Week of 5/6 - 5/10

This week students began a unit on solving multi-step inequalities.  Students applied prior knowledge of number properties as well as simplifying algebraic expressions to practice solving and graphing inequalities.

Week of 4/29 - 5/3

This week students completed the unit on multi-step algebraic equations.  Students applied prior knowledge of number properties as well as simplifying algebraic expressions to practice solving for variables on one side.  Students took a quiz to demonstrate their knowledge.

Week of 4/22 - 4/26

This week students began a unit on solving multi-step algebraic equations.  Students applied prior knowledge of number properties as well as simplifying algebraic expressions to practice solving for variables on one side.

Week of 4/15 - 4/19

This week students reviewed the simplifying algebraic expressions using the distributive property and combining like terms.  Students practiced these skills leading up to solving multi-step algebraic equations.

Week of 4/1 - 4/5

This week students finalized the unit on linear equations.  Students learned how to determine the slope of a line from a graph.  Students also learned about the the y-intercept and how to use these pieces of information to write a linear equation (y = mx + b) in slope-intercept form.

Week of 3/25 - 3/29

This week students started a unit on linear equations.  Students learned how to determine the slope of a line, and given information in slope-intercept format, graph a linear equation.

Week of 3/18 - 3/22

This week students started to learn about the coordinate plane.  Students learned to identify the x and y axes, read coordinate pairs, locate points in the four quadrants, and understand domain and range of a set of coordinates.

Week of 3/11 - 3/15

This week we completed a short mini-unit on mean, median, mode and range. Students related these skills to practical applications such as their Biodiversity and Biology labs, showing ways to visualize and track data.  Students took a short quiz to demonstrate mastery of content.

Week of 3/4 - 3/8

Students completed their unit on Geometry.  This week we worked on properties of circles, calculating diameter, circumference and area.  Students related these skills to practical applications and took a cumulative unit assessment.

Week of 2/25 - 3/1

The snow days altered the schedule for our unit on Geometry.  Students will finish properties of triangles including internal and external angle measurements.  They will then progress to work on solid shape vocabulary, volume, and polyhedrons.  Students related these skills to practical applications.

Week of 2/6 - 2/8

Students continued the unit on Geometry.  Students reviewed properties of triangles, types of triangles, measuring angles and using one-step equations to solve for unknown angles.  Students related these skills to practical applications.

Week of 1/29 - 2/1

Students began a three week unit on Geometry.  Students reviewed types of shapes, formulas for calculating perimeter and area, for two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects.  Students related these skills to practical applications.
