Welcome to the 2018 - 2019 School Year!

Check here for current week's topics and assignments

Intro to Algebra Final Exam is TUESDAY, JANUARY 22nd during 2nd period.

Week of 1/14- 1/18

Students reviewed concepts from earlier in the semester to practice concepts that will be on the final.  Reviews focused on evaluating expressions, combining like terms, one-step equations and two-step equations.

Week of 1/7 - 1/11

Students reviewed concepts from earlier in the semester to practice concepts that will be on the final.  Reviews focused on integer rules, fractions, proportions and order of operations.

Week of 12/10 - 12/19

Students took a quiz on their unit on ratios and proportions, quiz study guide found here.  Students review prior lessons and foundation skills before Winter break.

Week of 12/3 - 12/7

Students continued their unit on ratios and proportions.  Students used the skills to solve word problems and set up and solve algebraic equations.

Week of 11/26-11/30

Students began a unit on ratios and proportions, and practiced comparing two quantities by using ratios and rates.  Students took an IEP data assessment to track progress.

Week of 11/19 - 11/21

Students began to work on combining like terms to simplify algebraic expressions.

Week of 11/13 - 11/16

Students continued to practice solving two-step algebraic equations.  Students took a quiz to demonstrate mastery of the content.

Week of 11/5-11/9

Students began to work on solving two-step algebraic equations.  Students were able to review one-step equations and substituting for variables and apply these concepts to new skills.

Week of 10/29 - 11/2

Students continued work in the iXL math program.  Students continued to practice solving one-step algebraic equations and learned how to substitute numeric values for variables.  On Friday students take quiz #3 on solving one step equations.

Week of 10/22 - 10/26

Students continued work in the iXL math program.  Students learned how to solve one-step algebraic equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Week of 10/15 - 10/19

Students continued work in the iXL math program.  Students learned how to apply the order of operations (PEMDAS) to simplify expressions and simplify expressions and solve equations.

Week of 10/9 - 10/12

Students continued work in the iXL math program.  On Friday students take quiz #2 on exponents, radicals, multiplying/dividing fractions and adding/subtracting fractions. Study guide notes are here:

Week of 10/1 - 10/5

This week students properties of exponents and radical numbers.  Students write and evaluate numerical expressions involving whole-number exponents.  Use square root and cube root symbols to represent solutions to equations of the form x2 = p and x3 = p, where p is a positive rational number. Evaluate square roots of small perfect squares.

Week of 9/24 – 9/28

This week students worked on expressions involving fractions, reducing to simplest form, adding/subtracting, and multiplying/dividing as well as converting between fractions, decimals and percent. Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division and of fractions to multiply and divide rational numbers.

Week of 9/17 – 9/21

This week students continued to work on properties of integers including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and absolute value.  Students began to work on fractions, reducing to simplest form and converting between fractions, decimals and percent.  On Friday students took their first quiz.

Week of 9/10 – 9/14

This week we have been working on properties of integers including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Students completed work on positive and negative integers, integer operations and absolute value.
