My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that the best way to maximize student learning is to create a safe, and comfortable classroom environment where students are able to develop their potential.  I have set classroom expectations that are simple and easy to follow; be present, be kind to others and be kind to yourself.  These expectations are flexible enough to allow for the unique needs outlined in student individualized education plans.  In order to help students feel welcome, I get to know my students, their interests, strengths, backgrounds and needs.  I want my students to feel that they are respected and valued.  I want my students to be unafraid of making mistakes, they are learning opportunities.  I want to provide a place where students are able to challenge themselves, learn and grow.
