Week of 3/2 - 3/6

We are continuing the Night Unit

Monday, 3/2: We discussed the cumulative project for this unit which will be a found poem, and watched an interview with Ellie Wiesel.  A found poem is a poem that is created from taking word for word lines from different sources and creatively constructing a poem, including a visual representation of your work.  You are essentially taking “found” lines and using them to make poetry.  A source for one of your lines will be the interview we watched today, which can be found at the link below:

Week of 3/23 - 3/27:

Hello Students!

Each week you will receive a set of activities that will help you maintain important skills through the duration of our school closure.  This first week will have you practice understanding propaganda techniques and rhetorical techniques.

As this week’s activities are based on techniques presented earlier in the semester under Ms. Shafer, your work will be reviewed by her.  This work will not be graded, nor will other work completed during the duration of this closure.  If you would like feedback, please send Ms. Shafer your finished products with specific questions and she can give you feedback to help you continue to build your skills and improve.

Also, if you have your Holocaust found poems finished from before the closure, please email them to me as soon as possible.  Also, if you have missing assignments, please email me and I will see if I can help you earn some points.

Take care!

Ms. Gale
